New Features of Eli Version 4.6

The installpkg Product

The standard Eli packages can be installed in a library that can be updated without affecting any caches currently being used (see Installation of Eli System Administration Guide). Updates only take effect if a new cache is created or an existing cache is reset by executing and eli command on that cache with the -R parameter.

We have added the installpkg product to allow users to install additional packages in the standard library or to create their own libraries (see Installing additional packages of Eli System Administration Guide). To take advantage of this facility, the packages must be versioned (see Versioned packages of Eli System Administration Guide).
